Hernandez has seemingly little to offer – he’s locked up, broke and one of the most infamous convicted murderers in America. The couple’s 7,100-foot McMansion in North Attleboro is vacant and on the market for $1.299 million. The $40 million deal he signed with the Pats was long ago voided.
And there is strain on Shayana Jenkins-Hernandez. The victim of Hernandez’s first conviction, Lloyd, was the happy-go-lucky boyfriend of Jenkins-Hernandez’s sister. The two siblings, once extremely close from growing up in a single-parent home, are now, understandably, estranged.
Becoming legally married seems pointless. It conveys no known benefits for Jenkins-Hernandez. Even if Hernandez became a model prisoner, the Massachusetts Department of Correction does not allow conjugal visits for anyone, according to spokesman Chris Fallon. The couple will never be allowed anything more than “a very brief welcoming and departing embrace and closed mouth kiss.” Other than that they can sit side by side and hold hands.

Jenkins-Hernandez routinely attends the current trial in Suffolk Superior Court and, as always, is polite, engaging and friendly to everyone. Once again on Thursday, she sat as a state witness but offered consistent resistance to prosecutor Patrick Haggan, essentially neither recalling nor remembering anything of note.
She knew nothing of the murders in Boston nor what prosecutors allege was theShe could recall few, if any, notable dates, times or conversations. She pretty much remembered nothing about anything.
At one point, Haggan was inquiring about  Aaron’s reads: “Remind me that we’ll always have each other … ” It’s part of a lyric from the band Incubus, although Shayanna says she discovered it on Pinterest. Her tattoo almost certainly finishes the verse: ” … When everything else is gone.”
Even on this unimportant, non-incriminating point however, she wasn’t sure what her own tattoo reads, this despite it being inked on her own skin.
“Oh geez, I’d have to look,” Jenkins-Hernandez said, signaling that doing so would require disrobement. Judge Jeffrey Locke spared her of that.
On another occasion she was asked what Hernandez would do down in his basement man cave – which included a pool table, bar, weight room and movie theater. She claimed she didn’t know.

Nigeria played Senegal in a friendly in London on Thursday.
Kelechi Iheanacho on Thursday in London scored a late goal to deny the Teranga Lions of Senegal a famous victory against the Super Eagles in an international friendly.
The News Agency of Nigeria  reports that an 82nd minute penalty kick scored by Iheanacho helped Nigeria secure a 1-1 draw in their friendly encounter at the Hives Stadium.
Moussa Sow had given the Teranga Lions an early second half lead in the 53rd minute, but they could not hold on for a victory over the Super Eagles.
Senegal were dominant in the midfield, with Idrissa Gueye presiding over it all with calm and quality.
But Sow upfront was far less mobile than Mane, and looked very ordinary until Daniel Akpeyi dropped a 53rd minute corner kick into his path for the opening goal.
Iheanacho did get two glorious chances to score, scuffing a shot across the goal from 18 yards, and then somehow prodding wide from point blank range.
He managed to redeem himself with 10 minutes to go, gliding onto a through-ball before being brought down by Pape Ndiaye, and rising to convert the penalty kick for the equaliser.
It was probably deserved, if only for Iheanacho’s persistent running.
He might even have won it with a snapshot wide in stoppage time, but neither side really did enough to win the game, or to entertain the sparse crowd.
When Sadio Mane came on, replacing debutant Opa Nguette, he earned the largest cheer of the night, bringing more excitement than either goal.
While he may not have actually contributed much on the pitch, it was the Liverpool man alone who provided any buzz around the Hive.
The Super Eagles will now look forward to their next friendly game against Burkina Faso in four days time.

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari, to speak with him to prove he is hale and hearty instead of shopping for outsiders to speak with.
Fayose said Nigerians would be more convinced if the president spoke with him.
The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, noted that Buhari had reportedly in one week spoken with the king of Morocco and the president of the African Union.
Fayose said, “If their problem is that they are looking for a credible person who can help them convince Nigerians that all is well with our President, I’m their best bet.
“Let the president speak with me. If I tell Nigerians that the president spoke with me, Nigerians will believe.
“Since they are eager for the president to speak to people; believing in this way to convince Nigerians that their President is hale and hearty, let president Buhari talk to me. I can be reached on 08035024994. I am credible and Nigerians will believe me”, he said.
According to him, Nigerians are getting suspicious of all the purported visits to Buhari in London as well as his orchestrated telephone conversations with international figures who Nigerians cannot trust to give a true and unbiased report about the president’s state of health.
He added,  “They said he spoke to President Donald Trump; despite the hype, Nigerians were skeptical. Then they said he spoke to the king of Morocco; again, Nigerians were suspicious. Before we recovered from that, it is now the AU president that they said President Buhari spoke to.
“A president that can speak with outsiders should be able to whisper or wave to his own people. The people gave him the very important platform of President on which he stands today and, therefore, Presidential aides should stop giving the unhelpful impression that Buhari has no respect for the Nigerian electorate.
