The House of Representatives approved a motion on Thursday
for President Muhammadu Buhari to offer Jammeh asylum if he hands over
power to Adama Barrow, who won The Gambia's December 1 elections. The motion is not binding on the government and there
was no immediate response from Buhari, who is expected to travel to
Banjul on Friday for talks.

A delegation led by the Chief of Staff
to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, visited Maiduguri to formally
convey condolences of the Federal Government to the people of Borno
State following Tuesday’s accidental bombing of an internally displaced
persons camp in the state.

Four people were killed and over 17 injured when suicide bombers attacked two mosques in the University of Maiduguri on Monday.
The incident occurred around 5am during Subhi prayers.
A test message from the spokesman for the National Emergency
Management Agency, AbdulKadir Ibrahim confirming the incident said,
“Twin Blast from suicide bombers reported at University of Maiduguri. A
mosque near Gate 1 and one other location around Gate 5 were targeted
during the early hours of today . Rescue and security officials are on
site, triage and causality evacuation concluded.
The incident occurred around 5am during Subhi prayer at the
mosque. 2 people and 2 suicide bombers were confirmed dead (total of
Four)and 17 injured at the time of response.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 10 suspected
cultists, including a female member, who allegedly partook in in a
clash in Mowe on Tuesday.
The men were said to have been arrested in various locations in Mowe following the violent cult clash between two rival groups.

A former Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Ali Ndume, has said
the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, may be the next to lose his
